Definition and Principle of PCS
A Power Conversion System (PCS) is a device that converts electrical energy from one form to another. In lithium iron phosphate battery energy storage system (BESS), PCS is mainly used to convert electricity from direct current (DC) to alternating current (AC) generated by renewable energy devices such as solar panels, wind turbines, etc., and to convert AC to DC again when storing electricity, in order to achieve efficient storage and utilization of energy. The core principle is to adjust the parameters such as frequency, amplitude and phase of the current through the converter, so as to realize the conversion between different forms of electrical energy.
Functions and characteristics of PCS
